DIY Fleece Letterboard

Learn How To Create Your Own Letterboard!

Letterboards are on trend right now and great for so much! They're perfect for announcements, decor, and more.

Lets jump in!

What You Will Need:

  • 9”x11” Picture Frame With At Least A Depth Of 3/4”
  • Fleece
  • Scissors
  • 18 Wooden Dowels (3/16” thick and 24” long)
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Plastic Letters (1”)
  • Ruler

Get Started:

Cut the wood dowels into the following quantity and lengths:

  • 2 Dowels: 10-15/16″
  • 34 Dowels: 8-15/16″

Once you have your dowels cut, you can get gluing them to build the sides of the fleece letter board!

Use the frame backing as a size guide to create a rectangle. You’ll create this rectangle base by using your two 10-15/16″ dowels and two of your  8-15/16″ dowels; glue them together. Then, hot glue the rest of the shorter dowels horizontally. You want to space them 1/8″ apart to be sure the letters fit perfectly!

Have the frame built? Move on to laying the fleece!

To start, lay the fleece piece(s) over the frame and get tucking away. Beginning at the bottom, tuck the fleece between the stats using a ruler. As you move onto tucking the next slat, be sure to hold down your previous one to avoid pulling it out.

Frame it.

All tucked? Trim away the access fleece leaving about 1” of length around all edges then set the fleece frame into the picture frame! Put the backing on, and voila, you have your very own fleece letter board.
